"Racing for the Covenant, through the Covenant, and by the Covenant."
Welcome to Covenant Racing!
We are a motorcycle roadracing team. Since we are also Christians, we use the race team as an outreach tool for God at the races.
We believe that God is sending us to reach people for Him where they are….and some just happen to be at the racetrack!
Our mission is to be an example of God's love and goodness to the people in the racing community so that they will want a relationship with God. We want to
be an example to others of what we can have in Jesus, including our God-given covenant rights to prosperity, protection, and healing. This mission is
based upon Romans 2:4, "The Goodness of God leads you to repentance," and Acts 13:47, "For so the Lord has commanded us: I have set you as a light to the
Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth".
One of the ways that we achieve this is by donating at least 10% of all Covenant Racing's sponsorship funding to ministries to help them reach
people for God and to benevolence funds which help injured racers and the families of fallen racers, such as the
Red Flag Fund.
Also, we are a yearly sponsor of "Thunder Over Texas", which is the largest Christian
motorcycle and hot-rod car rally in the country. It is held in Granbury, Texas, and hosted by Jerry Savelle Ministries. Many come to know a personal
relationship with God there each year. We also provide free Bibles and books as an outreach at racing events to those who want to know about their
God-given covenant rights to healing, prosperity, and protection.
We started our first official racing season in 2004 in the southeast region of the U.S. under the Western Eastern Racing Association (WERA) in the Vintage
V6 and V7 novice classes, racing a 1986 Suzuki GSXR-1100. We finished 3rd place in overall points in the 2004 WERA Southeast regional Vintage V6 class
championship and 4th place in the Vintage V7 class championship. Plus, we were honored by being featured in the
2004 summer issue of "Christian Motorsports Illustrated". This was our first time being featured in a magazine, so as you
could imagine, we were quite excited!
For the 2005 race season, we finished the 2005 WERA North Florida/Georgia regional points championships in 2nd place in the Vintage V6 race class and we
finished in 3rd place in the Vintage V7 race class for this year. We also finished in 6th place out of 19 racers in the 2005 WERA National championship in
the Vintage V6 race class, and in 9th place out of 40 racers for the National championship in the Vintage V7 race class.
To top it all off, we made our television debut on December 3, 2005 on “Chariots of Light”, hosted by Pastor Jerry Savelle on the
Daystar Network! Wow! Praise God! This was our first time on tv and we were completely ecstatic about it. “Chariots of Light” is a new, radical,
exciting broadcast that combines motivational life messages from the Word of God with
the thrill and excitement for the bike and car enthusiasts by adding just enough “garage toys”. Just check it out on your local Daystar Network
cable/satellite television channel or via live webcast at www.daystar.com. You can also watch “Chariots
of Light” broadcasts on-demand at www.chariotsoflight.com.
In 2006, we started racing a 2004 Suzuki GSXR-750 in WERA's B-Superstock and B-Superbike classes and will continue racing this bike. And we were again
so thankful for being featured in the 2006 summer issue of "Christian Motorsports Illustrated".
2007 was a great blessing for us! Wes got to attend Freddie Spencer’s pro race school in Salt Lake City, Utah....
All we can say is “Praise God!” and “Wow!” It is so awesome to sit and learn from such an experienced, previous world-champion racer such as Freddie Spencer.
For those of you who don’t know who Freddie Spencer is, but know of some famous car racers,
he is like a “Mario Andretti” or “A.J. Foyt” in car racing. So going to his race school was very special, a great privilege, and a huge deal to us!
Then we were invited to display our two race bikes at the 2007 Southeastern Powersports Expo in Valdosta, GA. We enjoyed being there and had a great time
sharing our faith with visitors and fellow exhibitors there at the expo. Plus, we were interviewed and video-taped by the local television news reporter
covering the expo. Wes got to share in the interview that we race to show God’s love and goodness to the racing community at the track. It was our first
time being interviewed for a television news channel and Wes did a great job being interviewed on the spur of the moment. The expo was also covered in
The Valdosta Daily Times newspaper article on September 11, 2007, in which we were also mentioned. We thank God for it.
And last but not least, God positioned us to be featured for our third time in the "2007 winter issue of Christian Motorsporsts Illustrated",
but not only that and way more than we could have ever thought, we were honored by being placed on the front cover of the magazine! Glory to God!
This was our first time being on a cover of a magazine and we were absolutely thrilled!

We'd like to send out a special thanks to first of all, God, for His grace, protection, help, and connecting us with friends in the faith. Without Him,
we would be nothing and be able to do nothing. Secondly, we'd like to send out a special thanks to both Pastor Jerry Savelle of Jerry Savelle Ministries
and to Roland Osborne, publisher of "Christian Motorsports Illustrated" magazine, for being such a blessing and help to us! And thirdly, we'd like to send
out a special thanks to all those who have supported and prayed for us this race season! We thank you with all of our heart.
